Using FreeBSD with a Iomega Parallel Zip Drive

Driver not supported anymore!!

Please get ppbus stuff instead (R2.2.x or higher only)

ppbus distribution developped with R2.2.1 and R3.0 compatible

The Parallel Port Chipset (ppc) driver and the ppbus stuff are seperated. A README file is included in the distribution.
You should upgrade, ppa driver has been updated according to Iomega ZIP's specs. It's name is now vpo !!!
Click Here for access to distribution area

BUT, if you have some problems with the new vpo.c driver forget it and get ppa3-0.62 instead.

  • Printer interface available in AT and PS/2 modes.
  • MSDOS and Unix filesystem supported.
  • This is the port of the ppa-curtin 1.06-BETA Linux driver

Installation process

See README file for the list of supported chipsets and installation process.

Note: you have to add the option "PPA_21x_COMPAT" in your MACHINE file if your system release is 2.1.x.
